Research notes for dog and cat owners
Every claim on this site shows how strong the research behind it is, where it came from, and when it was last checked. No guessing which advice to trust.
We look at the studies, vet guidance and owner experience behind each piece of advice, then rate it in plain words.
Questions friends and readers ask most, answered from real experience first.
In my experience, grass eating has been a normal mix of instinct, taste, digestion help and boredom. Talk to a vet if your dog eats large amounts or seems unwell.
I first noticed it on a regular Tuesday morning. After his usual walk he headed straight for the patch of grass by the fence and started chewing like it was the most normal thing in the world.
At first I assumed he was just bored. He does the same thing on days I’m working late and he’s been inside longer than usual — he’ll wander over, sniff around, and graze for a few minutes. But he also does it right after we’ve been out playing, so it isn’t only boredom or anxiety.
